The purpose of the Young Physicians Initiative is constructing a premedical program for individual high schools that provides an early and interactive guidance toward a medical career for high school students interested in medicine. Our program leaders are local doctors, professors and medical students. Our goal is implementing the program in high schools across the country.

Doctor for a Day provides a unique experience bringing together medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians from across the state on a volunteer basis for the sole purpose of increasing exposure to the medical field in high school and college students primarily from minority and or underserved backgrounds.

Neighbors walk together with health professionals for an hour at least once a month and chat as they walk. At the end of the walk, there is a short (15 minute) presentation on a health topic. The CDF and I started the chapter in Clarkston with the purpose of bringing refugees and Americans together while enjoying a walk in our beautiful city and promoting exercise.
